What this is

asbestosroof.co.za is an independent Gauteng service for getting an asbestos roof removed and replaced the compliant way. We are not the contractor. Your roof goes to a Department of Employment and Labour registered Type 2 and 3 asbestos contractor, and before their quote reaches you we check every line against the Gauteng price band published on this site, so you know it is fair before you open it. The contractor’s registration number is on the quote. We take no fee from you.

Why you get one checked quote, not five phone calls

Marketplaces sell your request to five firms who all phone you. We send it to one contractor whose work is held to a written standard, and we check the price: 7 days’ notice to the Department, wet hand removal, licensed disposal at the Holfontein landfill with a disposal certificate, air monitoring and a clearance certificate from an Approved Inspection Authority. Every job is priced after photos and a site check; the site gives you the range so you know what a fair quote looks like before you get one.

What the roof finder does

It shows the satellite and street view of your address, reads the roof area and pitch from Google’s aerial model, and lets you outline the part you want removed. The picture and the measurement go to the contractor with your message. It cannot tell whether a roof is asbestos; that is confirmed from photos and on site.
